The Hellenic Cultural Center is participating in the project “Foreign Language Trainer for Mother Tongue – a train-the-trainer curriculum (LAMOTO)”, funded by the “Partnerships” action of the Leonardo Da Vinci Program of the European Union for the period 2008-2010.

The project focuses on developing an intensive training curriculum that equips learners with the necessary skills to teach their mother tongue as a foreign language.

Project Partners:

The project involves organizations from:

Turkey (Konya Il Milli Egitim Mudurlugu – Public authority, Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi – Public authority), France (Association pour une école hongroise) – Parents’ Association, Greece (Hellenic Cultural Center and Zeus Consultants)

Project Implementation

As part of the project, an analysis of existing teaching methods for mother tongue instruction as a foreign language was conducted in the three partner countries. The comparison and refinement of these methods are currently contributing to the development of a train-the-trainer curriculum.

This curriculum has already been piloted with native speakers from the partner countries and is in the final stages of development. The curriculum will be distributed on CD and made available on the project’s website.
