Guidelines for learning and teaching
The KALEIDOSCOPE series is structured around Thematic Units, so that students have the opportunity to encounter the same vocabulary in many texts.
THE STUDENT BOOK includes introduction, motivation, text processed with its exercises, grammar, listening comprehension exercise, additional texts on the topic with different degrees of difficulty, list of thematic vocabulary, grammar tables, audio CD with the texts.
The ACCOMPANYING BOOK includes additional material for the teaching and for the consolidation of the Unit: text edited with its exercises, vocabulary extension, listening comprehension exercises, oral and written production exercises, grammar, additional texts on the subject with different degrees of difficulty and intercultural elements, a song, complex creative works on the subject of the Unit, pronunciation and suggestions for further study of the subject with bibliographic references and links to the internet, audio CD with the texts.
It is estimated that the teaching of each Unit can be completed in 10 hours of live teaching or in 20 hours of individual / online study, depending on the number of students in the department and their performance. However, it is not necessary to do all the exercises, since the students have already mastered the thematic vocabulary of each Unit and its morphological structures.
The textbook is supported by additional activities and materials for the trainees, as well as didactic suggestions for teachers and additional texts through the website www.hcc.edu.gr. The materials are posted in a special area on the website, where teachers and students enter for free through a code. There they can exchange ideas and suggestions for teaching and learning, and find up-to-date texts and other materials.
